3 Reasons Not To Share Your Goals With Anyone
If you start and stop when it comes to pursuing your goals, this post is for you.
There are many reasons you may start and stop, but I’m only going to address one today.
I always said I wanted to write.
I’d share book and movie ideas with friends, and they’d all say the same thing, “that’s incredible; you should write that.”
I’d start and stop.
I always said I wanted to invent something, to create something new. I’d share my ideas with friends,
“You should make that.”
I’d start and stop.
I found myself thinking of ideas, getting super excited, blurting them out to the 1st person I saw, feeling the rush of validation, and then the vacuum of inaction.
I felt like the air was let out of my balloon, and I’d be back to the idea drawing board.
Wash. Rinse Repeat.
All the while wishing things were different while not doing anything different.
It was a terrible cycle that left me feeling empty and full of shame that I couldn’t finish projects.
Until one day, I decided not to let the air out of my balloon. I had a big audacious goal, and I wouldn’t let anyone in on it.
