These, to me, are mastery in action:

Mark Rothko’s “Four Darks in Red,” David Mamet’s “Glengarry Glenn Ross,” and Sir William Lyons’s “Jaguar XKSS.”

What do they have in common?

And how can you use your own inspirations and this commonality to reinvent your life with meaning and fulfillment?

  • None of these creations existed before their creators brought them into existence.

I believe in the muse, and it’s ok if you don’t, but if you want to cultivate meaning in your life, I believe you have to believe in something.

Because if you don’t believe in anything, meaning is meaningless.

The muse bestowed a gift onto each of these creators:

An inspiration, an idea — a spark.

We all have them, often in the shower, when we’re driving or connected to nature.

I don’t know about you, but when the muse visits me, it’s nothing short of extraordinary, and it’s one of the glories of our shared human existence.

We’re fortunate that there are several paths for cultivating meaning and fulfillment in our lives.
