5 Life Lessons Learned From Recording My 1st Audiobook
I wrapped up recording my first audiobook, “Blank Canvas, How I Reinvented My Life After Prison.”
It’s now available on Audible, Amazon, and Apple Books.
Blank Canvas was published in May 2021, and it’s taken me this long to record, and it’s given me a wonderful opportunity to reflect on why and what I learned throughout recording.
Because recording is hard, I’m used to using my voice; I regularly deliver keynotes (some of my sessions are 100 minutes, but this was different.)
Recording this audiobook beat the hell out of my voice.
It also forced me to relive the worst moments of my life and, to be fair, some of the greatest moments of my life.
I’m grateful I did it, and I’m grateful for what I learned.
These are the top 5 lessons learned from the process.
1. I Am Worthy of Investing in Myself
I didn’t have the money to record in 2021, but that’s only part of the story; there’s always another layer.
I’ve struggled with self-worth and adequacy since childhood.
Investing thousands of dollars into a project struck my self-worth at its core.
