A Life Rich With Meaning and Purpose is a Life of Constant Reinvention

I love the work of Picasso.

And I love any of his styles throughout his career, and I love that he is perhaps the poster child for reinvention.

With a career that spanned 79 years and included success in painting, sculpting, ceramics, poetry, stage design, and writing, Picasso’s tendency to experiment with his craft is extraordinary.

He reinvented himself so often his body of work is divided into periods:

Early work, the Blue Period, the Rose Period, the African Period, Cubism, Neoclassicism, Surrealism, and Later work.

When I stand before particular works of art, Picasso, Rothko, Pollock, and Monet, to name a few, I’m humbled by the sheer beauty and expression they put forth on a blank canvas.

Actually, I’m impressed with anyone who creates something from nothing and then does what many consider to be insane:

Share it with the world.

So when Picasso abandoned style after style throughout his career, reinventing himself countless times as a creator, I’m even more blown away.

For example, here’s someone who conquered Cubism; he could have easily stopped there and made a career for himself. He could have mastered something…
