The first life is the one you’re living, which is your reality. Job, mortgage, maybe a family.
The other is the unlived life within you. This is who you’re meant to be and the work you’re meant to do.
You plant your flag firmly in reality because you’re doing what you believe you should be doing to be safe and happy.
This belief comes from lessons passed down from family and friends, society, advertising, and social media.
Get good grades, go to the right school, get the right job with a clear path to the next right job and the next right job.
Drive the right car, live in the right neighborhood, send your kids to the right school.
Meanwhile, your heart is connected with something more profound than money and status.
You can refer to it as your purpose, calling, passion, personal legend, life’s work, etc. Whatever you call it — it’s always there and whispering to you.
