Capture Your Fears to Manage Your Fears
What big idea do you have?
What do you want to create?
How do you want to live?
What happens internally when you decide to take action on your dreams?
Does your voice of Doubt and Fear scream at you to put the brakes on?
Do you start a project and stop? Maybe you’re just idling.
Which is super annoying when you know what you want but don’t know how to move forward.
When the 1st step seems so monumental, you don’t dare attempt it.
Try this next time your inner voice yells at you to stop.
It’s an exercise I call Spotlight.
When your inner voice of Doubt and Fear start chatting in your ear, shine a light on them.
Write the word “Spotlight” and allow the fears to pour out. No edits, no holding back, a stream of consciousness pouring onto the pages. Don’t wait to write them down later, when possible, capture them in real-time.
If the voices of doubt and Fear want attention, give it to them.
Shine a light on them as bright as you can.
“…this will never work, you’ve got no experience, you’re an impostor, why bother if you can’t make it perfect? You’re not…
