Creating with a Mission: Love is The Antidote to Fear
When I was writing “Blank Canvas,” each keystroke contained whispers of insecurities, raging inadequacy, self-doubt, self-loathing, and soul-crushing impostor syndrome.
These are merely minions of the overlord of fear, the fear of being seen and heard.
It was a burden I questioned whether or not I could carry.
It was too heavy; it was too daunting.
The days it felt the heaviest were the days I had to remind myself of “Why?” I was carrying this burden.
“To help one person.”
My mission is to create art that helps people live better lives.
When I do work in service of something more significant than myself, fear transforms.
It becomes a burden I’m willing to carry to the edge of the universe and back.
Not for myself, but for the person who currently can’t carry their own.
As I face my present-day biggest fear, I must remember this lesson:
Do the work out of love, not fear, because love is the antidote to fear.
