While pleasure and power are powerful drives and can seem like worthwhile goals, they are often external and fleeting. Hence the constant pursuit on what I refer to as the golden treadmill.

The often overlooked component of the pursuit of meaning is that pleasure and power are often by-products of the cultivation of meaning.
