Here’s How To Create Meaning and Fulfillment in Your Life

Not my actual go-kart

I had a go-kart when I was a kid.

My next-door neighbor had grown too old (think 12) and too cool (his opinion) for such trivial things.

He sold it to me for $75.00.

It was initially blue, later neon pink due to a mix-up at the paint store that my 10-year-old wallet couldn’t afford to fix.

This neon pink bundle of joy was powered by a 5-hp engine that my father worked his magic on.

He tuned it so high that when I pulled the pull starter, the machine would take off down the driveway, and I had to run and jump into its single seat.

Fortunately, there was no roll cage, so that I could do that.

Unfortunately, for those rare occasions when I flipped it.

Between me weighing as little as a small dog, the lightness of the machine, and my father’s magic, we estimate it did about 55 mph.

My family lived on a private dirt road which meant the entire road was my playground; I could never get in trouble with the police for driving on the road.

I was fortunate to have many cool toys, but my go-kart was hands down the coolest.

Like many schoolchildren, I remember sitting at my desk in elementary school…
