Here’s Why It’s Important to Experiment Within Your Craft to Cultivate Mastery

I love to write.

It’s a component of my life’s calling, and as such, it’s a priority.

I write every day and struggle to remember the last day I missed.

My writing practice is usually about two hours per day; after that, I start petering out, making mistakes, and thinking most everything I’m writing is shit.

It’s taken some time, but I’ve learned when to push through and when to walk away.

My goals for writing are to learn (mostly about myself) and to discover what’s true for me.

Then I take what I learn and alchemize it into something of value for anyone who invests their time to read it.

Because the reader is investing their most precious resources (time, energy, and attention), it’s incumbent on me to deliver a solid return on investment.

At least that’s the hope; only you can be the judge of that.

To maximize the ROI and enrich my life with meaning and fulfillment, I pursue mastery in the craft of writing.

I continually push what I believe I’m capable of and continue to go deeper into the craft.
