Hiding Our Uniqueness Decimates Our Wholeness
1 in 4,000,000,000,000
This is the chance of you being born.
That’s like winning two lotteries while riding a unicorn, being struck by lightning, while Haley’s comet passes overhead — all at the same time.
Unless you have an identical twin, your DNA is unique to you.
It’s a miracle that each one of us is here.
Our uniqueness is a birthright.
And we seemingly do everything in our power to deny it.
We’re tribal creatures by nature; we’ve been conditioned to fit in. We don’t want to be the odd one out. There was a time when the odd one out perished.
So we conform, squeeze into the status quo, and hide in plain sight.
We guarantee our survival.
We also guarantee an empty existence in which we cruise on autopilot — until one day, we wonder where the time went and realize how unfulfilled our lives are.
Hiding our uniqueness decimates our wholeness.
The worst part is that our uniqueness is what makes us come alive and what we most desire to share with the world.
How will you ever feel whole if you deny your favorite piece of yourself?
