How Guilt Keeps Us From Pursuing The Life We Crave
Here’s one of the single most essential beliefs we must embody to pursue our life’s calling and create the lives we desire:
I know what I want, and I am at peace with it.
This simple statement is the essence of empowerment and the key to unlocking the life we desire.
Because we’re constantly bombarded by what we should be doing, what we should be buying, and how we should live our lives.
It’s the checklist of complacency, and it’s a dead-end.
Sure, we may be professionally and materialistically successful, but we’ll be woefully unfulfilled when we follow a checklist that isn’t ours.
We crave meaning on an intrinsic level.
We cultivate meaning when we break free from the checklist of complacency and connect with our life’s calling fueled by our mission.
Whether writing, speaking, teaching, composing, sculpting, advocacy, entrepreneurship, traveling, or whatever, our life’s calling will never stop knocking.
But, if we even glance at our life’s calling, our brains go into hyperdrive.
An emotion that’s guaranteed to arise from this hyperdrive is guilt.
