How I Learned to Embrace and Accept the Inner Critic to Create The Extraordinary
The more I expand, the more old wounds reappear.
They appear when life is going well, or as the voice inside would say,
“Too well.”
It takes many forms:
The “You destroyed success in the past; who’s to say you won’t do it again?”
The “waiting for the other shoe to drop.”
The “Who do you think you are?”
The “You’re not worthy.”
The voices can be enough to keep me from going beyond where I am.
But here’s the funny thing about that voice, no matter the course of action, it rains down on me.
When I do take action,
“You’re not doing it right.”
“It should be so much better.”
“Look at so and so; why aren’t you where they are?”
When I capitulate to the voice and remain stuck,
“You’re weak.”
“You’re wasting time.”
“What’s wrong with you?”
But, there’s another voice; it’s not so much even a voice, but more of feeling.
