If You Read Beautiful Writing You Can Create Beautiful Writing
“If you don’t have time to read, you don’t have the time (or the tools) to write. Simple as that.”
Stephen King
I love writing. I love the act of it; I love the art of it.
I light myself up from the inside out when I’m behind the keyboard.
It’s out of this love that I’d like to share some of the practices I utilized in writing my book, “Blank Canvas, How I Reinvented My Life After Prison.”
My intention with these tips is to inspire and add value.
I don’t have a particular schedule for these posts, they’ll come in random intervals, and maybe, when I’m done, I’ll package them all together and offer it as a free guide.
Also, these tips won’t be in any particular order because there is no order.
I’ll kick it off with one I genuinely love.
The first part of the tip is nothing new. Almost every piece of content created about writing will include it. It’s a no-brainer:
Read beautiful writing.
Only you can identify what beautiful writing is to you. Maybe it’s Russian literature (I’ve struggled with it). Maybe it’s the American classics of Hemingway and Steinbeck (two of my inspirations).
