It Took Me Over 20 Years to Accept My Call to Adventure

I was a personal trainer in my early 20s.

It was a fantastic job, I made great money, and most importantly, I loved what I did — and the freedom of being my own boss.

One day while I was at the gym, I was offered an incredible opportunity.

I had the chance to work as a trainer on a cruise ship during the summer and at a ski resort in Aspen during the winter.

Room and board included
Cruising through the Caribbean
A rotating, steady roster of clients
Massive amount of partying every night

And according to my friend, lots and lots of sex.

As a single male in his 20s who loved to party and wanted to explore and travel, this may have been the perfect job.

I was excited and honored to be offered this position.

I turned it down.

A few months later, I received a letter in the mail from a wickedly exclusive fitness club in New York City.

They wanted me to come on board as a Director of Training.

It was also an incredible opportunity and a great honor to be considered.
