Just Because You’ve Started Down One Path Doesn’t Mean You Have to See it Through.
I’ve started work on my second book.
I’m about three and a half months in and close to 80k words written.
I’ve dedicated a decent amount of my time and mental bandwidth towards its creation.
This morning, while setting up my yoga mat for my morning practice, something struck me with the crystal clear clarity of deep understanding:
I understand what I want the core of my next book to be, and it was similar but not entirely what I’ve created thus far.
Although the core is a part of me, the expression of that core requires exploration and excavation of myself and my past.
It’s a challenge, pushing me to expand my thinking and skills.
And this is the part I love.
When the muse bestows the spark of an idea on me and I begin to uncover it, it’s one of the most exhilarating experiences I know.
It’s exhilarating because it’s in alignment with several of my core values:
Courage. Creativity. Mastery
When I finished writing for the day, my new trajectory felt good; it felt right.
