No Matter How Fast We Run, We Will Never Outrun Ourselves
When we’re hurt, sad or angry and express ourselves to another from this place, often we don’t want the other person to solve or fix anything.
We just want them to listen.
We want to be seen and heard.
When we express ourselves from a place of deep inner joy and creativity, we don’t need the other person to adopt our mindset (although it’s nice, and joy is infectious); we just want them to receive.
We want to be seen and heard.
Our deepest human desire is to be seen and heard, and yet, how often do we truly listen to ourselves?
I believe we all have a calling.
A pull towards something that hits the notes in our body like Chopin strikes the keys of a piano.
It’s the unlived life within us, the one that connects you with a sense of meaning and fulfillment.
If we’re afraid of our calling and not actively pursuing it, I believe two things happen when we dream about it and think about taking that first step towards it.
First, we feel a lightness of being, a faint recollection of how we experienced life as a child. When all things were possible, and our imaginations knew no bounds.
