On the Path to Meaning We’re The Most Significant Obstacle We’ll Face
Cultivating a life of purpose, meaning and fulfillment requires that we create something new in our lives.
Creating something new in our lives means we must enter the coliseum every day.
And every day, the same opponent is standing in wait.
Entering the coliseum means we must face ourselves, and every day we have to battle the parts of us we wish didn’t exist but do.
Our fears, our inadequacies, our perceived lack of skill, and our wish that we could skip all the steps and be done already.
It’s imperative we learn how to create in the face of fear, perceived inadequacy, and self-doubt.
Because they’re not going away.
But how?
At the beginning of any novel endeavor, we don’t know what we’re doing.
Our perception of our current skillset becomes one of the most significant obstacles we face.
Everything is new, everything is a challenge, and every obstacle becomes a damn good reason to stop and go back to the life we know.
When we look at the life we know, we see the success we’ve already achieved; we’ve already climbed the ladder.
