On Your Journey Through Life it Pays to Stop and See How Far You’ve Come

I turned 49 yesterday (8.5).

I’m not a big birthday guy; I’ve never been. It’s just another day to me.

However, my perspective is shifting, and this year’s different.

As I go deeper into the back nine of my life, I see the value of taking a step back to review and reflect.

It’s been a tumultuous decade, one that merits attention.

It pays to stop and look at how far we’ve come on life’s journey.

  1. At 39, I thought I had it “all.” I owned multiple homes, drove beautiful cars, wore 5-figure watches, and had a solid corporate career — but I felt empty.
  2. At 40, I was arrested by the FBI and sentenced to 2 years of federal prison.
  3. At 41, I lost everything and was planning my suicide.
  4. At 41, I was given the priceless gift of understanding I had worth outside of what I always believed gave me worth.
  5. At 41, I began the journey of reinventing my life.
  6. At 45, I forgave myself.
  7. At 46, I began coaching clients.
  8. At 46, I conquered my fear of public speaking and delivered a TEDx.
  9. At 47, I became a Reinvention…
