Self-Trust Totally Transformed My Life Post-Prison, Here’s Why
Self-trust reinvented my life after prison.
Hands down, full stop.
Why?
Reinventing my life after prison meant stepping out of the known and leaping into the unknown.
And it meant doing this over and over and to live the life I want to live; there’s no end to the leaps.
I hope I’m leaping into the unknown until I die.
People think self-confidence makes the leap possible, but I disagree.
The definition of self-confidence is:
“a feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgment.”
Incredible and a requirement for reaching my goals, but it’s not the secret sauce.
Self-trust is.
Because when I’m standing at the edge of the abyss, thinking about leaping into the unknown, I’m worried about what will happen to me when I do.
Will I crash and burn?
Will I be judged, criticized, or laughed at?
I may have all the abilities, qualities, and judgment in place, but the fear of the unknown can be soul-crushing.
This is why I rely on self-trust.
