Stop Worrying About X, Y, and Z, Focus On Getting From A to B
How does anything begin?
With an idea, a spark, a flash of insight.
Followed by the desire to take the 1st step.
Imagine this stage for a moment.
It’s exhilarating; you’re invigorated.
It’s also fraught with fear and self-doubt.
There’s a trap lurking that needs to be avoided at all costs at this early stage:
Leaping from A to Z
What is leaping from A to Z?
That’s when you take your idea and leap all the way to right before its completion.
It’s when you focus on X, Y, and Z, envisioning all the steps, problems, and things you don’t know how to do.
- You overwhelm yourself with details.
- You overwhelm yourself with all the steps.
- You overwhelm yourself with what you don’t know.
X, Y, and Z are too big. Too scary.
So you keep the idea as just that, an idea.
A pipedream, a fantasy, a thing that’s available to others — you know “them,” but not you.
Living in fear and complacency blows.
