The Art of Perspective: Turning Life’s Struggles into Strength

I have something(s) in my life that weigh heavily on me.

When I think about them, they cause stress, fear, and anxiety.

If I allow them, they will crush me.

I know I’m not alone; it’s a component of our shared human experience.

As I navigate these situations/circumstances, I’ve found these 3 thoughts to be helpful:

✔️ Everything is temporary.

✔️ How did I contribute to this situation/circumstance?

✔️ A situation/circumstance is only as significant as I choose to make it.

I sit with these and hand myself over to each thought with self-inquiry, honesty, grace, and compassion.

The situation/circumstance doesn’t change, but my perspective does.

The crushing burden becomes lighter, making room for creative solutions.

My memoir, “Blank Canvas, How I Reinvented My Life After Prison” is available on Amazon.

“Blank Canvas” is for anyone trapped in prison cells of unworthiness, inadequacy, shame, regret, and fear who want to free themselves so they can reinvent their lives with courage, purpose, meaning, freedom, and peace.
