The Quality of Your Life Will Never Exceed the Quality of Your Self-Image

Water will always find its own level.

What this means is water moves to the level of the surrounding water.

Imagine a transparent tube with water in it; no matter how you manipulate it, the water will reach the same level on both sides.

It can’t be any other way; physics won’t allow for it — water (like other liquids) is incompressible.

The same holds true for your life.

Your life will always find the level of your self-image.

What this means is this:

The quality of your life will never exceed the quality of your self-image.

Imagine living an extraordinary life; maybe it looks like this:

• You’re unstuck and making decisions with confidence.
• You’re taking deliberate and consistent action on your dreams.
• You’re no longer playing it safe. Instead, you’re living boldly and courageously.

When you imagine this extraordinary life, it feels awe-inspiring; it also kicks up a tremendous amount of other thoughts and emotions.

Namely, you don’t feel worthy of an extraordinary life.
