You Only Need to Get From A to B

How does anything begin?

With an idea, a spark, a flash of insight.

Followed by the desire to take the 1st step.

I love this stage, it’s exhilarating, & it’s also fraught with fear & self-doubt.

There’s a trap lurking that needs to be avoided at all costs at this early stage:

Leaping from A to Z

What is leaping from A to Z?

That’s when you take your idea & leap all the way to right before its completion & its actual completion. It’s when you focus on X, Y, & Z envisioning all the steps, problems, & things you don’t know how to do.

You overwhelm yourself with details.
You overwhelm yourself with all the steps.
You overwhelm yourself with what you don’t know.

X, Y, & Z are too big. Too scary.

So you keep the idea as just that, an idea. A pipedream, a fantasy, a thing that’s available to others — you know “them,” but not you.

Living in fear & complacency blows. Maintaining the status quo to feel safe, all the while the idea is whispering to you — but you’re too afraid to go after it.

You compare yourself to others — they can do it, but I can’t.
